She put out her hands, like a human scale. “There are building blocks of a marriage” Then she paused marking a dramatic effect. “And the building blocks of marriage are more than just a man and women. They are kindness, mercy, compassion…” Her voice trails and the light behind her sits brightly like a halo. My mind wanders to whether this is supposed to be an epiphany or if there’s something i’m supposed to feel in relation to these blocks now quantified by words.
